Months after R&B star Usher lost his 11-year-old stepson to a freak jet ski accident in Georgia, an arrest has been made today (March 1).
According to reports, a suspect by the name of Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was taken into police custody a few hours ago.
Nearly eight months after the death of Usher’s stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, justice is finally being served. On Friday morning just after 7 a.m. ET, Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was arrested “without incident” at his mother and father’s home in Georgia and was “cooperative,” the arresting officer Sgt. Mike Burgamy, of Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources, tells omg!. Hubbard’s arrest comes just one day after a grand jury in Hall County, Georgia, indicted him on a slew of charges – including Homicide by Vessel, Serious Injury by Vessel, and Reckless Operation of a Vessel. In July 2012, Kile and another young girl were struck by a jet ski operated by Hubbard, a family friend of his father’s, as they rode in an inflatable raft. While the girl suffered minor injuries, Kile spent 10 days in a coma before he finally succumbed to his brain injuries on July 21. (Yahoo News)
Hubbard is reportedly being slapped with a few charges and held without bail.
The District Attorney told TMZ that Jeffrey was indicted for Homicide by Vessel, Serious Injury by Vessel, as well as Reckless Operation of a Vessel, and he is currently being held without bail. He will appear in front of a judge this weekend, who will decide whether or not he will be granted bail. Usher and his former wife Tameka Foster were totally and utterly devastated when Kile was injured, and they desperately hoped he would recover. (Hollywood Life)
Usher and Glover’s family held an emotional funeral for him last July.
Usher’s 11-year-old stepson — who tragically died last week after a jet ski accident — has been laid to rest following his funeral today. According to sources, Glover was riding in an inner tube on Georgia’s Lake Lanier July 6th when he was struck in the head by a passing jet ski. He was unresponsive when taken out of the water. Kyle’s funeral was held in Atlanta this morning. He was laid to rest in a nearby cemetery. (TMZ)

Kile Glover, stepson of singer Usher Raymond and biological child of ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond, died Saturday morning (July 21), according to Channel 2 Action News. Kile was taken off of life support Saturday morning and died from heart failure according to a family friend, weeks after the 11-year-old was involved in a tragic Jet Ski accident. Kile was declared brain dead two days after the July 6 accident, and the family struggled with the decision to remove him from life support hoping for a turn in his condition. (MTV)
