In light of PETA garnering buzz courtesy of Waka Flocka Flame dropping trou for animal rights,  SOHH played matchmaker by asking one of their female spokespersons to select the sexiest star between veggie lover Andre 3000 or ex-vegan Common.

Going with her Atlanta hometown favor, PETA spokesperson Megan Rondeau said Andre 3000 edged Common in the hotness category

“Oh man, I got to go with Andre 3000,” Rondeau told SOHH. “I’d have to go with him. I’m going to say Andre on that one. It’s tough though. There’s definitely some ATL pride in my choice and I think he’s really got a sense of humor and he’s just been such a great advocate for a vegetarian diet. There are more than a 100 animals saved every year because of people like him and it’s the best thing you can do for your health and your environment. I think Andre really embodies that.” (SOHH)

Based on a list of hip-hop vegans (people who do not eat/consume animal products) given to SOHH by PETA, multiple urban stars refrain from eating meat.

VEGAN: Russell Simmons, The Roots, Masta Killa, GZA, Saul Williams, Erykah Badu, stic.man, Michael Franti, Pep Love, Adam Yauch, Princess Superstar, Matisyahu and Ruben Studdard. (PETA)

There are also a handful of rap stars who are vegetarians (people who follow a plant-based diet, with or without the consumption of dairy products).

VEGETARIAN: RZA, Nelly, Andre 3000, KRS-One, India.Arie, Mos Def, Murs, Jeru the Damaja, M-1, Damian Marley, Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Travie McCoy, Vanilla Ice, Zack de la Roca, Sage Francis. (PETA)

In 2009, Common opened up about being an ex-vegan and focusing on non-meat diets.

“I felt that beef and pork wasn’t good. I did my own tests and found that beef and pork weren’t really good for my system. So I’ve been a lot clearer by not eating those meats, and also chicken. Turkey was good, I like turkey, bacon and all that, but I just went vegan at one point. So when I decided to go back the other way, I just needed fish and I feel balanced with that. You’ve got to eat the right things. It’s not just about not eating meat. You’ve got to find out what your body needs, what’s healthy for you. What’s good for life.” (Vegetarian Star)
