According to People, the soulful singer was taken to the clinic on Saturday (October 25) after a doctor had examined her body on Thursday which brought up concerns about her previous health issues.
“They wanted to do some tests as a precaution,” Winehouse’s spokesman Chris Goodman told People. “Obviously she had lung and chest problems which she had treatment for not so long ago, so they’re just making sure.”
Although an official report has yet to be released, her father, Mitch, has alleged Winehouse’s lung condition is the result of habitual cigarette smoking and crack cocaine usage, according to People.
After nearly 48 hours, the platinum-selling singer is expected to receive clearance to leave the facility some time today.
“She’s fine,” Goodman added. “Should be back home today.”
