Model Amber Rose has opened up about her friendships within the entertainment industry and said Nicki Minaj is her favorite female companion.
Rose said she caught glimpse of Minaj due to her overwhelming girl power movement these past few years.
“I’m friends with Nicki Minaj,” Rose revealed in an interview. “We became friends with each other because she was just such a movement and she was so about girl movement also. We need to stick together. Stop fighting over boys, let your friend borrow an outfit. Let your friend borrow a pair of shoes if she ain’t got it and wants to go to the club. Share. Support each other. There’s nothing wrong with sharing clothes. Like, ‘You know what girl, I’ma help you straighten out your hair today.’ — I miss straightening hair.” (Global Grind)
Earlier this year, Minaj recruited Rose to appear in her “Massive Attack” music video.
“I brought my BFF Amber Rose out here,” Nicki said in an interview. “This is a massive attack. We shot the helicopter scene. Obviously, I had to have a hot-pink Lamborghini. We’re having fun in the car, and we see a freakin’ helicopter chase us. So we get on the walkie-talkie, like, ‘Mayday! Mayday!’ It’s really fashion and beauty shots, and we’re acting like we’re doing something important…You can expect it to be almost like the soundtrack to a movie. It’s gonna take you somewhere that … it’s kinda gonna tell a story. I didn’t just want to make an album that had a club record, just the obvious. I wanted to paint a very graphic picture. And every record that I’m doing for the album, I can see the stage show, I can see the video. It’s just gonna be big. You can expect it to be big.” (MTV)
After Rose playfully said she found Minaj sexually appealing last year, SOHH spoke with Minaj to get her reaction.
“I was very shocked. It was funny. She said it to me when we met in person so I was like, ‘Whoa she’s dead serious ’cause she put it on Twitter.’ I was just laughing like everybody else probably. I had to take it in a little bit… pause. She’s a dope girl. She’s real funny. She just took an interest to me. I guess that’s a good thing when a bad b*tch likes you, you know?” (SOHH)
Last July, Rose hit up Twitter to inject words of encouragement amongst women.
“Ladiesn when u see a beautiful woman Compliment her even if u feel insecure. DO IT! You’ll feel good,” she tweeted July 15th.
