Based on Kon’s observations, Aguilera has fallen off.

“Aw man, that’s not even any competition,” Akon said in an interview. “You are actually giving Christina too much credit. She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented. She has unlimited range when it comes to singing. Her voice is out of here. I just think she just needs to believe in herself more. I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had not realizing that she was already successful before Gaga came out.” (VIBE)

Kon recently said Gaga is helping break the barrier between pop and rap music.

“I think what everybody else didn’t,” Akon said about Gaga. “She had went through like four or five labels. When I closed my deal at Interscope, she was getting dropped that week … they was dropping her again. I was like ‘Yo, I wanna sign that right there.’ Jimmy [Iovine] was like ‘Yeah, whatever you want, take her. Let’s get it done.’ She’s blossomed into a super-mega star. She’s pretty much retired me. She was definitely a blessing. She came at the right moment. I’m glad I believed in her, boy. That goes to show, if you believe in something good — it will pay off.” (Associated Press)

Akon will reportedly feature the singer on his upcoming album, Stadium.

Last time we caught up with hip-hop star Akon,he was in Miami recording songs for his new album, Stadium. He calls the record, which is slated for an April or May release, “high energy.” “It’s going to be big,” he says. “I’m on a whole other level right now. My life is bright, and you’ll hear it on the album.” Expect cameos from his protege and Konvict Muzik artist Lady Gaga and David Guetta (who co-produced three of the tracks). (Miami Herald)

He previously spoke with SOHH about allowing his artists like T-Pain to step in front of the limelight.

“Me, I’m the trainer and the manager,” Kon told SOHH. “I will book the show and T-Pain will lead the rings. He leads the ring period. I just over look the tent. I put the tent up and then I allow you to go in there and showcase your art. I know my place, they know they place and that’s why we are successful and we continue to move forward. One thing I’m never going to do is try to jump in front of his shine.” (SOHH)

    • 2-3 years ago it was too much Lil Wayne everywhere,,,even on espn first take u would see him there sometimes

    • MJ was set for life till he put a Six Flags, a zoo, and a hospital in his back yard!
I doubt wayne will burn through all his money just skating and sipping lean lol

    • Nah, man, it had nothing to do with the carvinal-like backyard he had. Take it from an MJ expert (or don’t, it’s up to you).

It started with the legal fees for the accused molestation trials. Mike wanted to fight the first case and Johnny Cochran, the slick snake that he was, talked Mike into settling. I believe it cost him $20 mill to the family, alone. Then what made his financial woes even worse were the amount of drugs that he was purchasing. I can’t remember exact amounts so I’m not going to act like I do and post fake ones, but, that man had a big fucking pill tab. Then, at some point he took out a mortgage on The Beatles catalogue and his house to get some money. Then he started going on these extreme shopping sprees where he’d spend up to $2 or $3 million a pop in an art store. Then came the second trial which he was smart about and learned from the first one and fought this one out.

And of course there’s other this and I’m sure there things we don’t even know about.

  2. Lil wayne aint shit. Trinidad james is dat nigga now. He got that dope shit for da streets. Plus he from trinidad and represents everyone from trinidad. He a real nigga with real music. 5. Hey, you’re the one that acted like a fool and threatened QD3’s lawyer on camera in front of a judge during the deposition. Maybe you shouldn’t have whined and cried about your tummy ache while you stayed in N.O. partying, but claiming that you were too sick to go to LA.

When you fuck around, buddy, you lose. Wayne, get the clue… most people don’t like you.

  6. Bad year for bad rap already, if you don’t think Wayne can go broke, you got to realize Baby and Slim been in his money for years.
