Akon Accused Of Crippling Man: “He’s Physically Disabled Right Now” [Video]

Konvict Muzik head Akon is catching heat to start the week off for reportedly causing permanent damage to a concert worker a few years ago in Alabama.

According to reports, an unexpected ‘Kon stage-dive back in 2009 has resulted in a hefty lawsuit.

A concert worker says he’s physically disabled right now now now … and it’s all Akon’s fault — after the singer allegedly stage dove right on top of the guy, causing him permanent injury. A man named Matthew Graham has filed a lawsuit against the singer, claiming he was working Akon’s show at BayFest music festival in Alabama back in 2009 — when Akon “negligently or wantonly leapt into the overcrowded mass of concertgoers” and struck him. The victim wants ‘Kon to cough up big bucks for medical expenses, lost wages and physical pain he has endured since the event.

Graham says he sustained severe and permanent injury to his knee, back, head, and body during the incident — and is now physically disabled. He doesn’t specify the extent of his disability. Graham is suing for medical expenses, lost wages, physical pain and mental anguish — demanding unspecified damages. He is also suing BayFest, Inc. (TMZ)

Outside of legal woes, the rapper/singer recently talked about missing out on signing Young Money’s Drake in 2009.

Akon sure has an ear for top-notch talent; just ask T-Pain and Lady Gaga. Still, even the best music execs miss out from time to time, and on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live,” Kon’s buddy Kardinal Offishall revealed the “Locked Up” singer’s most notable miss. “The biggest one that he passed on, I told him about Drake early,” Kardi revealed. “I said, ‘Kon, this kid is a T.V. star… and this kid is crazy.'” Kardinal, like Drizzy, hails from Toronto, but was able to establish himself as a notable rap talent years before Drake broke out with 2009’s So Far Gone. “I had met him years before he started with his first mixtape,” Offishall said. “The thing that’s dope about Drake is that I remember, like he was just hungry because he wanted to make that transition from the acting to the rapping.” (MTV)

Along with stage-diving and missed opportunities, 2009 is also when he made headlines for child support-related complications.

Akon’s baby mother is still allegedly chasing behind her ex for child support payments, but according to Akon she needs to look harder. Farrah Coleman, the mother of one of Akon’s kids, claims the Senegal-born singer hasn’t been paying his child support for the one child they have together. Every time attempts are made to file him legal papers, he’s allegedly nowhere to be found. She’s now threatening to take an ad out in Monday’s edition of the Los Angeles Times. (VIBE)
