With his new Honest cover art floating online this weekend, Future has reportedly targeted mid-April for the release of the long-awaited solo effort.
According to reports, fans can expect the new LP to arrive in about six weeks.
Future has finally announced the release date for his sophomore album, Honest. The album, which was initially titled Future Hendrix, will come out April 22. It is executive produced by Mike WiLL Made It, who also produced the album’s current single, “Move That Dope.” Features on the album include Pharrell, Pusha T, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj, among others. Along with the release date, Future has also shared the album cover. (Complex)

All eyes are on Future. A day after dropping the video for “Move That Dope,” the Atlanta rapper unveils the dark and mysterious cover art for his sophomore album Honest. In addition to the Mike WiLL Made It-produced single with Pharrell and Pusha T, the follow-up to his 2012 debut Pluto features appearances from Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West. (Rap-Up)
A few weeks back, Future revealed he initially packed his sophomore effort with somber-sounding tunes.
“The album that you gonna get when it comes out is not the album I was working on when I first started recording. It was another kind of album. It was more… I guess I was just expressing myself about everyday life and where I was at then–just emotionally, personally. The beats were slower, had more guitar riffs, just playing around with the piano more and with different instruments.” (ELLE)
Future credited the creation of one particular track for completely changing up his new album’s content.
“I started going in another direction after I made the “Sh*t” record. It just flipped the whole album. I got in a whole other mood when I went in the studio. I just started recording, recording, recording as much as possible. I just got in a great zone. I was able to capture the best moments. It helped me make a classic album.
