Just days after Lil Wayne checked out of a hospital following a serious seizure, Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em is catching backlash for posting up controversial codeine photos.

Despite Wayne fighting an overdose, SB showed no concerns with his Instagram shots’ content.

Soulja Boy’s fans are turning on him … blasting the rapper for posting glammed-up pics of the drug codeine on Instagram … just days after Lil Wayne nearly died from an OD. Soulja’s known for posting pics of the painkiller on social networking sites — along with giant bags of weed — but fans went nuclear over these new photos. (TMZ)

Soulja Boy’s decision to show off his prescription drugs immediately sparked backlash.

The glamorized images, which were published on his Instagram account, show the 22-year-old rapper dining with a bag full of codeine bottles. “make that work, work. make the shit flip,” he wrote. He received thousands of messages from irate fans. “what about some of the kids that actually look up to u??? U should at least try to be a good example. Drug abuse is NOT cool!! U are wayeee smarter then this.. smh praying for u cause god forbid u overdose,” wrote one of his concerned followers, while another put it more bluntly. “You are such an idiot,fame take over your bird brain…..DUMB ASS,” said the commenter. According to reports, the 22-year-old rapper initially posted up the first codeine-related photo last week.

On March 16, Soulja Boy made pictures of codeine seem glamorous when he posted a picture of two bottles of codeine amongst very nice dinner. On March 21, Soulja Boy posted a picture of bottles of codeine along with other drugs. Fans became furious and made it known by posting comments under the pictures of how upset they were. The fans knocked him for being proud of being addicted to prescription drugs. References were made to Lil Wayne and his close call with death. (Examiner)
