Just hours after Young Money's Lil Twist found himself in handcuffs, fellow Cash Money Records artist Paris Hilton also felt the wrath of law enforcement in Los Angeles.
While not as serious, Hilton could not dodge a speeding ticket while cruising through Beverly Hills.
Like an older, hotter Justin Bieber … Paris Hilton got in some trouble today for speeding through a residential neighborhood in a super fancy car. Unlike Justin, Paris was busted in Beverly Hills (she wouldn’t be caught dead in the valley) … and law enforcement sources tell us she was only going 42 in a 25. Not exactly breaking the sound barrier. In the end, Paris got a ticket … and left without being chased down by Keyshawn Johnson. (TMZ)
Earlier in the day, Lil Twist spent eight hours in police custody on a reported DUI charge.
Lil Twist, whose real name is Christopher Lynn Moore, was believed to be under the influence of a substance when police stopped the chrome Fisker Karma at 3:30 in the morning. He was taken to a nearby police station and booked on a charge of driving under the influence. Lil Twist did not appear drunk, the gossip site reports, suggesting he may have been under the influence of drugs. (NY Daily News)
Recently, Cash Money Records CEO Birdman boasted about adding Hilton to his growing roster.
“Honestly, I don’t think people know how talented Paris is. I just left from her house she was playin’ me some music and we were meeting,” the Cash Money CEO told MTV News last month, when taking a break from a Los Angeles recording session where he was finalizing his upcoming Rich Gang album. “She got a record we’re about to come out with and she’s very talented. You know she’s already somethin’ special as an entrepreneur and everything that she do,” he said. “But on the music side, I’m super excited. We all — me, Wayne, everybody — we listened to her music and she got some hits.” (MTV)
Back in May, Hilton broke the major signing news and said she is going through Baby’s label to drop her sophomore solo album.
But the big news: this nightfly who is really a successful businesswoman is recording her second album of music right now. It will be issued by CashMoney Records and will feature many hip hop acts such as Lil Wayne. Paris told me Afrojack is producing it, and she hopes to have it out this summer. The album release will be preceded by Paris doing a residency playing records (digital tracks) this summer in Ibiza, Spain-which also happens to be the hometown of her eleven years younger male model boyfriend named River. “This is a lot different than my first album,” Paris told me. “It’s really going to be house music.” (Showbiz 411)
