After Drug Arrest, 2 Chainz Kicks It W/ Kobe & LeBron

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz did not let a publicized Maryland arrest bring him down over the weekend, linking up with sports stars Kobe Bryant and LeBron James while enjoying last night’s NBA All-Star Weekend festivities in Houston, Texas.

Chainz not only shared a moment with the Black Mamba, but he also performed alongside rockers Fall Out Boy leading up the All-Star Weekend Dunk Contest.

Last year I found out who 2 Chainz was when I overheard LeBron yelling “2 Chainz!” over and over again in the hallway at All-Star Weekend. Twelve months later, 2 Chainz has endorsement deals, cameos on 2 Broke Girls, he’s featured in 10,000 different songs, he’s performing with Fall Out Boy, and now apparently he’s friends with Kobe? We’re three years from Tity Boi getting elected President. (SB Nation)

Chainz also hopped onto his Twitter and Instagram pages to boast about the Saturday (February 16) night fun.

A few nights prior, the artist formerly known as Tity Boi caught bad press after getting arrested in Maryland.

Local rapper 2 Chainz has been arrested on drug charges in Maryland where he was to perform at a college event. Maryland State Police spokesman Sgt. Marc Black says troopers stopped a van Thursday night for speeding near Easton and smelled marijuana in the van. A backpack in the van was found to have a marijuana grinder and trace amounts of marijuana. The rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, claimed possession of the backpack and was arrested. Black says Epps was cited for having drug paraphernalia and marijuana and was released. The citation carries up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine. (CBS Local)

Last month, 2 Chainz invaded a San Francisco 49ers player’s post-playoff game victory interview.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree played a critical role in Saturday’s 45-31 destruction of the Green Bay Packers. He finished the game with nine receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns, as he continues what has been a breakout season. Crabtree has become Kaepernick’s go-to receiver, and he is turning into a force of nature on the field. After the game, Crabtree was one of the main on-field interviews. As the video above shows, Carlos Rogers was enjoying himself in the interview. The interview got even more interesting as rapper 2 Chainz showed up rocking the always awesome old school gold 49ers jacket. 2 Chainz was born in Georgia, so if the Falcons beat the Seahawks, I would not be surprised if 2 Chainz made an appearance at the Georgia Dome.
