While it is unclear if Chainz will actually perform, the G.O.O.D Music affiliate’s presence has been confirmed.

2 Chainz stays fresh as hell in his everyday life — ya know, just in case the Feds are watching. So you can only imagine what the rapper will do when he makes a special appearance at Sunday’s 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. During a special episode of “RapFix Live” from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn — where the awards show will take place in just a few days — MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway announced Wednesday (August 21) that 2 Chainz will be making a special VMA appearance. What the “No Lie” MC will actually be doing during the big show is anyone’s guess, but judging from his history with MTV, you know it’s going to be good. (MTV)

Drizzy Drake broke the news of his Sunday (August 25) performance at the event’s annual ceremony yesterday.

The video for his Nothing Was the Same lead single is up for two awards at this year’s show, including Best Direction and Best Hip Hop Video. (And judging from his tweet Wednesday morning, he’s particularly motivated to go home with one of the coveted Kaws-designed Moonmen. Fellow rap star Kanye West is expected to make history at Sunday’s VMAs.

MTV announced today via its various social media platforms that megastar Kanye West is set to perform on the “2013 MTV Video Music Awards” stage LIVE from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25 at 9:00pm ET/PT. Following his performance of “BLKKK SKKKN HEAD,” Kanye will triumphantly enter the history books by tying Madonna as the artist with the most VMA performances. Both artists have notched performances at seven separate VMAs. (Press Release)

“Suit & Tie” hitmaker Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the annual ceremony with six nods.

The 2013 MTV Video Music Award nominations are finally here! The network took to social media early this morning to announce the nods on their Vine and Instagram accounts. Justin Timberlake and duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead this year’s nomination list with six each! Bruno Mars is up for four moon men. Miley Cyrus, Pink, Robin Thicke, and 30 Seconds to Mars are all up for three. The award show will take place on Sunday (August 25) at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center, which will air live from MTV.
