Ace Hood Puts Forbes Over ‘Hottest MCs’ List: “They Don’t Really Base It Off True Lyricism”

With MTV's "Hottest MCs in the Game" list causing so much drama as of late, SOHH reached out to blazing hot rapper Ace Hood and asked how he ranks the countdown to Forbes' yearly "Hip Hop Cash Kings" rundowns.

Ace cited the music network’s slight bias for making him side with Forbes’ annual money-calculating countdown over the “Hottest MCs.”

“I would definitely want to be on that Forbes list because I’m hot and I’m getting money,” Ace told SOHH when asked if he would rather make a Forbes list versus a “Hottest in the Game” list. “I would rather be on the Forbes list, definitely, reason being just because at the end of the day, I feel like when people create those kinds of lists, they don’t really base it off true lyricism. That’s what I think, personally. I think the lists are a little bias, personally, because if you base it off lyricism, then Ace Hood should be included in that list. Or J. Cole should be included in that list. That’s just my opinion.” (SOHH)

Coincidentally, Young Money’s Drake also compared Forbes and MTV’s lists on his new “5 AM in Toronto” record.

It seems Drizzy felt he should have been placed higher. Or rather, he just doesn’t even care about the list at all. He’s beyond rap lists, to hear him tell it. He says as much on his new cut, spitting: “I swear, fuck them n*ggas this year/ I made Forbes list, n*gga / F*ck your list, everything’s lookin’ gorgeous.” (The Boom Box)

Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em took personal offense to MTV’s rankings last week.

“THAT NEW MTV LIST IS SOME BULLSH*T. IT HAS NO CREDITABILITY AND THE JUDGE PANEL HAD NO PASSION. IT WAS FIXED AND BIASED. NEXT YEAR THO,” Soulja tweeted March 8th. (Soulja Boy Tell Em’s Twitter)

The annual “Hottest MCs in the Game” list included hip-hop stars ranging from Meek Mill to Kendrick Lamar.

1. Kendrick Lamar 2. 2 Chainz 3. Rick Ross 4. Nas 5. Drake 6. Big Sean 7. Kanye West 8. A$AP Rocky 9. Future 10. Meek Mill (“Hottest MCs in the Game”)
