According to Cash Money boss Birdman, Khaled’s entire We the Best label imprint now falls under the YMCMB family tree.

“I’d like to let the world know that Khaled’s brand, which is We the Best, is officially signed to YMCMB and the first act coming out that umbrella … will be Ace Hood,” Birdman said. “I always wanted to have a chance to work with Ace Hood. We wanted to do it right, set it up right. I think Ace Hood is a superstar. I love his work ethic, I think he’s a very talented young man and he gonna be a big superstar in this business and I wanted to be the one to help him become that. It was important to me.” (MTV)

The partnership comes months after Cash Money signed rock group Limp Bizkit.

“I want to get it out there soon, as soon as we can,” Fred Durst, who finished an Australian tour with Limp Bizkit during the weekend, told Billboard.com. “The song is already done for the most part. I’ve got a couple little things I might poke around or punch in on my verse. And I want their guys to take a crack at the mix. I mixed it myself; I think it sounds very big, but I really love the way their guys are mixing stuff, so I want to see what they can do with it.” (Billboard)

Just this week, Birdman revealed plans to shoot an upcoming film featuring various YMCMB artists.

“We start shooting that in the fall,” Birdman revealed to XXL. “That’s the whole team, that’s like a 2012 Balla Blocking. The Rich Gang movie is about the team. Everybody is going to be the star of it, but [Lil] Wayne will be the center of it. It’s about the team, everybody that’s on the label. … I would like them [to] just be themselves. I’m not gonna tell no n*gga to go to acting school. Just be yourself. We’re excited as a brand about it. Tyga, everybody is like, ‘Stunna, let’s do a movie.’ We got a few of them lined up and we gonna shoot them.” (XXL Mag)

While fans await new music from Hood, the rapper recently talked to SOHH about his latest mixtape project, Starvation.

“I’m starving to be somebody great. Being where I’m at today and having done what I’ve done with my career on the rise, I want more. I’m starving for more. This mixtape is crazy. I’ve been doing a lot of things differently from what I’ve been doing in the past. People can still expect me to come hard with those street bangers but I even opened up another side of me. It’s going to give people an inside look at the things I’ve been doing and what they can expect to keep hearing from me. I think this is going to be great because there’s a lot of new energy, new records and a different me on there. It’s more personal this time around, compared to my past releases. I like to say every mixtape I drop shows what’s going on in my life right then and there, really in the forefront. So Starvation incorporates a lot of that.” (SOHH Guest Star)
