Top Dawg Entertainment‘s Ab-Soul has strapped up and unloaded some lyrical jabs on Roc Nation’s Jay Electronica. The California rapper has singled out Jay Elect on his new “RAW (backwards)” song.

The track, off Soul’s Do What Thou Wilt album, takes direct aim at Jay and references his past dispute with TDE labelmate Kendrick Lamar.

On “RAW (backwards),” the TDE rapper spits some familiar bars aimed at Jay. “I was like a swami of Jay Electronica until he/Figured Dizzle wouldn’t admit that he would body him for a milli/I told Kenny keep quiet, I’ma get him,” he raps. “We don’t need dirt on your hands getting the key to the city ya feel me/Hurts when your OG, who is supposed to be a G-O-D/Is standing next to King Kunta feeling like Toby/Moos what I gotta do boy?/I’m just waiting on your cue to take him to school boy!” (Complex)

Last summer, Ab name-dropped Jay Elect during a STEEZ Day Festival performance.

During Ab’s set, he kicked a few bars a capella. He also went at Jay Electronica, rapping this line, “I was like a swami to Jay Electronica until he figured that Kendrick wouldn’t admit that he would body him for a milly.” (Complex)

In April, Electronica publicly apologized to Lamar for dissing him during a Periscope session.

Back in February, Jay Elect lashed out at K. Dot on social media.

“Put some Kendrick on? Nah, f*ck that, f*ck that. F*ck that. Look, I like the one Kendrick song with Gunplay, ‘Cartoons & Cereal,’ but other than that? We don’t know what that n*gga’s talking about. … We don’t know what these lames are talking about. … You can’t say ‘F*ck Kendrick,’ that’s still our brother. That’s still our brother. ‘Kendrick would body you,’ look, you couldn’t pay Kendrick a million dollars. Kendrick will tell you himself he couldn’t body me. Kendrick is my son. Kendrick is my baby. Kendrick wishes he could be like me.”

In 2013, Ab-Soul labeled Jay Elect as his spiritual advisor.

“He’s just a deep dude,” Ab-Soul said. “He’s really who he is. Man, he’s the Black God! He’s a fan of my music and he connects with me on that level. I think we touch on a lot of the same things. He just hit me up out the blue.” (MTV)
