A$AP Rocky On Ex-Bae Iggy Azalea’s Haters: “If She Fake On Something, Somebody Is Going To Call Her Bluff”

A$AP Mob's A$AP Rocky graces the new Complex Magazine cover and dishes on the criticism ex-girlfriend Iggy Azalea receives about her status in the rap game.

Standing up for Iggy and saying the negative portrayals are unfair, Rocky argued authenticity would always win.

“It comes with the game. If she fake on something, somebody is going to call her bluff. That’s life. I’m not looking at it from a standpoint of “I used to be boning this chick’s back out.” I’m looking at it [as] “She’s just a person.” You can’t bluff. You gotta just be 100. That’s all I could really say. The question is: Was she not being 100 about something?” (Complex)

A$AP also said he believed Iggy would be able to weather any negative storm.

“She’ll be fine. It gets to a point where people start accepting so much mediocre sh*t—accepting the minimum and the typical—to the point where everything gets so oversaturated that people don’t have a choice but to go back to the original, hardcore, raw [art]. Everything raw. Every aspect of art. It changes and it makes shifts.” (Complex)

A few weeks ago, Iggy said she probably received backlash from hip-hop heads because of her impressive skills.

“They know, deep down. I think they know. They just don’t want to admit it. That’s what I think. I have a feeling. That’s why they’re mad. Because they do know that I actually am good, and they can’t really accept that. But we could be friends, and this could all be easy. Recently, Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon said Iggy’s talent and appeal spoke for itself.

“She was able to take it from somewhere so far away where she was at, to here and nobody’s gonna ever wanna give it up because of course she’s a white girl, pretty and she’s got talent. Then you’re gonna have people ridicule that because she’s from Australia. Music is for whoever knows how to it make it, man.
