New York rapper A$AP Rocky has reason to crack open the champagne bottles in light of his star-studded "F*ckin' Problems' moving past gold and now reacing platinum status this week.
According to reports, the popular single reached over one million digital sales this week.
That took no time at all. After going gold with ‘F***in Problems’ a few weeks ago and then earning a number 1 album with his debut Long.Live.A$AP, A$AP Rocky has another reason to celebrate today. The Harlem emcee’s hit single featuring Drake, Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz has topped the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song is currently #10 on Billboard Hot 100 but expect it to rise a couple of spots when the charts are refreshed tomorrow (Thursday). A couple of weeks ago, Pretty Flacko revealed that the follow up single would be Skrillex and Birdy Nam Nam-featured ‘Wild For The Night’. (HHNM)
Last month, the New York native spoke on pulling high-profile guest features for the smash anthem.
“Well, 2 Chainz was for sure going to do the hook. It was all about chemistry, because you know, even though Drake is a big pop artist, he can spit his a** off, Kendrick Lamar is a f*cking spitter. We all just wanted to make a party track and have fun. And that’s a true story – I f*cked a lot of b*tches. I got a f*cking problem.” (Rolling Stone)
Recently, Rocky downplayed perceived criticism over the record shot directly at him courtesy of Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator.
When the single “F*ckin’ Problems” was released, Tyler, The Creator took to Twitter and said “So funny when someone releases a new song with the same four people that we expected to be on it with the same sh*tty “Trap” beat Hahaha.” What did you think of that? He has his opinions and he’s entitled to them, so it’s whatever. H*ll no, I’m not tripping over what Tyler, The Creator said. I’m Jiggy. (Life + Times)
Back in October, Tyler appeared to fire a subliminal jab toward A$AP’s hit record.
“So Funny When Someone Releases A new Song With The Same 4 People That We Expected To Be On It With The Same Sh*tty ‘Trap’ Beat Hahaha.,” Tyler tweeted October 18th, 2012. (Tyler, the Creator’s Twitter)
