Rocky said anyone who was offended by his words simply took the remarks too seriously.

“Black girls just, ah man, went crazy. They just took it how they took it. This is actually my second time talking about it cause I really don’t really look at it as an issue. If people get upset at that I think it’s petty at the same time. It’s like they d*mn near wanna Rick Ross boycott me right now, over some lipstick controversy. Black girls, you know how sensitive they are, but they our sisters man. It is what is man. I come from a black home, so I know how sensitive black women can be. Especially when you talking about they looks or something like that. You can’t say nothing about they glasses, they nails, none of that because then you’re a womanizer or you’re a racist. I don’t know how I’m going to be racist. I have to wake up and look at my black a** in the mirror everyday. It’s like, what are you talking about? But it is what it is, man. I’m proud to be black.” (KYSDC)

Recently, rapper Trina and video vixen Toccara Jones aired out Rocky over his comments.

A$AP Rocky must love white chicks, ’cause he pissed off Black women everywhere — including model Toccara Jones and rapper Trina — by saying dark-skinned girls have no biz wearing red lipstick. Jones — a Season 3 vet of “America’s Next Top Model” — tells us, “His comments show he has self-hate. Doesn’t he love himself? How do you make a comment like that when you’re brown yourself?” Trina agrees … saying A$AP doesn’t know what he’s talking about, because she’s seen women of all shades “look beautiful in red lip wear.” (TMZ)

Known for Twitter attacks, fellow Harlem rapper Azealia Banks lived up to her own hype by going after Rocky over what he said.

“Lol @ asap rockys lipstick advice.,” she tweeted April 10th.

“Some people should just come out of the closet.”

“So rocky takes a direct blow to my image about dark skin and purple lipstick, then as soon as I’m a offended …. I’m the bad guy.”

“Typical day in the life of AB.”

“That comment was so hurtful. Like hurtful beyond measure. Coming from him especially……”

“It made me cry. It did”

“Especially since rocky stole my hair style from the 212 video ….. “

“I remember these dudes when they didn’t even have haircuts and cabfare….” (Azealia Banks’ Twitter)

Recently, the New York rapper stirred up tensions when he offered some beauty advice for women.

“But for real, for me, I feel like with the red lipstick thing it all depends on the pair of complexion. I’m just being for real. You have to be fair skinned to get away with that. Just like if you were to wear like–f*cking for instance, what do dark skin girls have that you know fair skinned girls cant do… Purple lipstick? Naw, that looks stupid on all girls! Purple lipstick, guys! Like, what the f*ck…” (The Coveteur)
