Although he could not get into the details, Rocky said the case ended up hitting his checkbook hard due to the multiple court visits.

“They said I tried to rob. I can’t really talk into that, but it costs a lot of money just to be coming to court every month for something as petty as me stealing a camera in this day and age,” Rocky said in an interivew. “It’s one of those slaps on the wrists. That’s when I calmed down for real. That was the last fight. That wasn’t my first lawsuit.” (“The Breakfast Club”)

Reports of the latest update on his criminal case bubbled online last week.

Rapper A$AP Rocky just pled guilty to attempted grand larceny in connection with a brawl that took place back in July in NYC — between the rapper and two amateur photogs. TMZ broke the story … A$AP — real name Rakim Mayers — was arrested following the fight, during which A$AP allegedly attacked two men for snapping pics of him … while he was involved in a verbal altercation with another person. According to the complaint, A$AP attempted to grab the camera during the melee — which is where the larceny charge comes from. (TMZ)

Aside from a small fine, A$AP must now remain on good behavior and perform community service.

In addition to the larceny charge, A$AP was charged with attempted robbery in the 2nd degree and assault — but the robbery and assault charges were dropped in exchange for A$AP’s guilty plea. A$AP was sentenced to 3 days community service. He was also ordered to pay a $250 fine and stay out of trouble until his next court date in February. (TMZ)

Earlier this year, the New York emcee downplayed his tough guy image.

“The biggest misconception is that I’m a gangster,” Rocky said in an interview. “I’m not. At all. I don’t want people thinking [I am]. Honestly. I really am [a nice guy]. I’m a good, down to earth dude.” (This Is 50)
