For the original version of “Bottle Girls,” like I’ve said, obviously I wrote this from an observation standpoint. The whole terrain was new sh*t to me and it was from the walks of life that I had been in.

For me, I kinda grouped everything together until I really started to research and getting the backstories. I really looked at it initially as, “Oh, that’s a bad chick!” Obviously me and Blu, once the song went viral, we met through social media. I shouted all of the girls out because, for me, I appreciated them as a muse.

We finally met personally and chopped it up and she told me her aspirations about being an artist and I was like, “Oh, that sh*t is dope.” Who would have knew? It’s a general with social media and where we’re at in society, it’s so skin-first with everything you see and with women.

I know there are women who have great stories to tell and I think Blu is going to be an ambassador of that. She’s so bad that you forget there’s a soul behind that.

Once we linked up and she nailed the verse, I knew it needed a video. I had already pulled Mack Wilds into the situation as far as doing the chorus. Mack Wilds is a superstar so you couldn’t lose with that. It was a no-brainer we had to shoot a video.

We really had to bring the song and visuals to life. –Consequence

We collaborated on everything. It was basically everything that was about me and what I felt about the industry. That’s pretty much where it came from. It was a lot of feelings in my verse. –Blu Gem
