Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame has reportedly been arrested today (October 10) after law enforcement discovered a weapon in his luggage at Georgia’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.
Details of the situation have started to scatter across the Internet.
The weapon was located in a domestic checkpoint lane at the airport, Officer Ralph Woolfolk with Atlanta police said. The rapper, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, did not have a weapons permit, Woolfolk said. Waka, 28, of McDonough, was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon in a prohibited place, according to police. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

He was being held in the Clayton County jail. An initial court appearance was set for Saturday morning. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer. Transportation Security Administration spokesman Mark Howell said agents have found about 1,600 guns so far this year in bags at airport security checkpoints nationwide. (ABC News)
