50 Cent’s “Rock” Concert Series W/ Fall Out Boy Delayed

50 Cent‘s concert series alongside punk rock band Fall Out Boy was postponed Saturday (April 18) night due to weather conditions.

Fif was set to continue the road tour, which began April 14, last night in Texas.

The Showgrounds at Sam Houston Race Park postponed Saturday night’s opening concert event, featuring alternative rock act Fall Out Boy and acclaimed rapper 50 Cent, due to severe weather conditions. Ticket holders, including those with VIP Early Entry and VIP Meet and Greet passes, should keep their tickets, as more information will be announced soon. (KHOU News)

Fall Out Boy frontmant Patrick Stump recently discussed how the G-Unit leader joined the group for a number of dates.

“He came up with the idea,” he said in an interview. “He had been talking for awhile about doing something together. We definitely like hip-hop a lot, and I think a lot of people know that at this point. We’ve toured with Paul Wall…We’ve encountered a little bit of negative feelings about it, but I think that you should challenge your audience a little bit. And I think the reality is that, OK, if you don’t like 50 Cent, if you’re that stuck-up that you’re going to stand there and hate him actively, then go to the concession stand during (his set). Go get a T-shirt or go to the bathroom if that’s how you feel. Otherwise, challenge yourself.” (Billboard)

The rapper is currently promoting his upcoming album Before I Self Destruct.

“The new announcement is that I’m dropping two albums,” Fif said in an interview. “I’ve had an opportunity to record since I thought I was releasing an album in December. But the portion of my record that I recorded with Dr. Dre was incomplete, because there was no opportunity to mix it. The only song that was mixed that I worked on with Dr. Dre is ‘I Get It In’ — that one is out now. It’s cool, but I need the rest of them to be mixed before I can present my project to the public.” (MTV)

Aside from music, 50 is billed to star in the upcoming film Twelve alongside a renowned cast of actors.

The movie will star Chace Crawford, Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Ellen Barkin and Kiefer Sutherland. Gaumont chairman Sidonie Dumas and CEO Christophe Riandee will produce with Radar CEO Ted Field and Original Media CEO Charlie Corwin. Melamed also will be a producer with Bob Salerno; and Mike Weber will be executive producer. Production begins April 20 in New York. (Variety)

A release date for Before I Self Destruct has not yet bee unveiled.
