G-Unit's 50 Cent recently talked about his delayed follow-up to 2009's Before I Self Destruct and why Interscope Records ultimately is in dire need for the project to perform well in retail outlets.

Promising to drop the LP in November, 50 also touched on his frustrations toward the label powerhouse.

“My album should be out in November,” 50 promised in an interview. “It’s easy. Everybody, they prioritize my projects. When they don’t do things exactly when we had communication about it being done, I get frustrated. Let me be honest with you. They need that record to sell more than I do. Not necessarily that [it’s dark over there], it’s just the systems itself unless you feel you’re going to make a new artist.” (Headkrack)

In early July, 50 said hitmakers Boi-1da, Alex Da Kid, Just Blaze and more were attached to his album.

“I can’t wait till my album comes out. I think things will shift,” 50 said. “Everybody who fell in love with what I fell in love with in hip-hop will respond to it because it’s got the right tones on it…I did four songs in Detroit with [Eminem]. I did two with Just Blaze, a Boi-1da joint, and I did something with Alex Da Kid. I got some heat…We made two that are definite singles and the other two are the kinds of records that we been making, more aimed at my core audience, more aggressive, more of a different kind of energy to it…I say, which one makes me feel good when I hear it? That’s the one I’m keeping.” (Shade 45)

A few weeks ago, 50 contemplated whether or not he would stay with Interscope Records following his final contractual release.

“I don’t know,” 50 told MTV News when asked if he would ink back with Interscope once his five-album deal was fulfilled. “It will all be clear in the negotiations following me turning this actual album in. And, of course, the performance and how they actually treat the work will determine whether you still want to stay in that position or not…It’s not like you’re gonna be able to make a project bigger than the actual project is, but if the songs are right and you have full support and you feel that support, why would you want to go anywhere else? If not, if you don’t have that support, why would you want to sign to another system? In the financial state that I’m in, you just do it yourself.” (MTV)

In June, 50 announced plans to drop a new album in November.

“My headphones and my album coming in NOV RT @EasierToSee: @50cent first the sleeks! now the album being pushed back!! What’s next?,” he tweeted in response June 19th.

“Me and EM are going to record for my album soon.” (50 Cent’s Twitter)
