G-Unit leader 50 Cent will reportedly direct his first music video for Tony Yayo's underground single, "Obama."
While details are still scarce, the video will reportedly mark 50’s first run behind the camera.
50 Cent has more than enough experience in front of the camera have starred in numerous music videos and Hollywood movies, and like many experienced actors the progression leads to getting behind the camera. 50 Cent will officially direct his first music video which is Tony Yayo’s single “Obama” off the mixtape Gunpowder Guru. No word yet on when the video will make its way to the net but you can be sure with 50 behind the camera he will be pushing for something unique. (Woooha)
The rapper is also starring in his own film, Things Fall Apart which films this year.
Rapper-turned-actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Randall Emmett have greenlit their next feature, “Things Fall Apart,” through their Cheetah Vision Films banner with Jackson starring. Project’s scheduled to begin five weeks of lensing in May in Michigan with Mario Van Peebles directing from a script by Jackson and Brian Miller. The film centers around a star football running back, played by Jackson, who faces a personal tragedy as well as his own mortality while in his senior year in college. (Variety)
His film reportedly went into production last month.
There’s a little bit of Hollywood in West Michigan this week. Rapper turned actor 50 Cent and his production company, Cheetah Vision Films started shooting a movie at Grand Valley State University’s football stadium in Allendale this morning. GVSU grounds crews spent all day clearing snow off the field all day getting ready for the film, titled ‘Love Me, Love Me Not.’ Shooting for the first phase of the film is set to wrap up on Wednesday (February 17). 50 recently revealed his interest in opting out of retiring from music.
“I don’t think I’ll retire – I think you should look forward to me going behind the scenes more, I still have passion for music,” he said in an interview. “The music business itself has changed. If you can’t figure out how to develop the brand extension and opportunities that allow you to build up the marketing dollar, I don’t see how you can continue to be a superstar.” (The Independent)
