Although a fan of Kanye, Fif admitted West’s previous works still reserve more of his attention.

When asked if he was a fan of West’s most recent record, Mr. Cent replied: “He’s obviously a talent within our culture and is one of the driving forces of it, but some of that s**t is weird to me. “That last record, to be honest, I’m not playing it right now. I still play Flashing Lights, Gold Digger and that whole (College Dropout) project. But some of the new stuff is so creative and feels like he’s trying to create a whole new sound.” (MTV UK)

The Unit leader also explained his problems with the proejct’s overall sound.

He continued: “It sounds scrambled… radio is going to play dance music, EDM – you got a lot of stuff happening in music culture that’s influencing a lot of R&B music to that tempo. It doesn’t feel like Hip-Hop to me, it feels like a fusion of something else, like a weird combination of dance music sounds and stuff. It’s just him being an artist, you don’t have to agree with everything an artist does. Like, I don’t have a favourite artist, I have a favourite moment from artists. Like with Drake, there’s songs he came out with and the timing was perfect for the record.” (MTV UK)

In a mini-rant last December, Mr. West questioned why his summer release could have been embraced by so many music critics but only receive two Grammy nominations.

Where’s the Grammy love for Kanye?! At least that’s what the egotistcal rapper is asking. West performed in Phoenix Tuesday night, and during one of his onstage rants, the artist complained about only receiving two Grammy nominations this year-one for Best Rap Album, and the other for Best Rap Song. A paranoid West complained to the audience”And Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list but only gets two nominations from the Grammys. What are they trying to say?” I don’t know Kanye-maybe there’s a massive anti-Kanye movement going on or something. Seriously, bro, relax! (RumorFix)
