While a new album release date still seems unclear, G-Unit's 50 Cent has wasted no time delivering fresh music by dropping a record called "Outlaw" from the forthcoming LP.
Although the track stems from his album, 50 said it is also a tribute to the late Tupac Shakur.
“Outlaw — first song off of my new album!! check it out nowhttp://ning.it/jwc1dr,” he tweeted June 16th.
“#outlaw is hot hate on wack sh*t not this suckers”
“You f*ckin people for got it 2 PAC’S birthday today and you call your self FAN’S d*mn #outlaw that’s what’s up”
“You think I dropped #outlaw on 2 PAC’S born day by accident you people don’t pay attention I’m on point. Lol”
“Thanks its just a joint not da single RT @Ctech619: @50cent solid new track, great beat, sick flow, can’t wait for the cd #releaseitthisyear” (50 Cent’s Twitter)
On the record, 50 keeps the topic on gritty street life.
“You want to get shot?/Go ahead: run up on my spot/My lawyers will have me out by 1 o’clock/Go ahead get dropped trying to get what I got/My diamonds twinkle over my Izod/My gun pop, tell me why would you try that?/Porsche Turbo, Cayenne/I’ll buy that G5 jet, pilot/I fly that. Burn good sh*t, get as high as I get” (“Outlaw”)
Yesterday, 50 aired out Interscope Records due to internal problems.
“Ok I tried to be cool with my record company . I went to the meeting talk to everyone and sh*t feels like there moving in slow motion,” he tweeted June 16th.
“I’m sorry to announce I will not be releasing a new album this year if we don’t get on the same page.” (50 Cent’s Twitter)
After promising to release the album’s first single last month, 50 later had a change of heart.
“I tweeted something about the actual single,” 50 explained in an interview. “While I’m out here, I gotta meeting and I gotta sit with Jimmy [Iovine], I gotta sit with the guys that push the button. I’ve done it by myself on my other albums because I’ve got my own radio staff, and I work the record, then get it to 500 hundred spins and then let them kick in. But I think it’s better if I go with the entire building and have everybody on deck so they understand my plans for this project.” (MTV)
