G-Unit leader 50 Cent recently addressed fans' infatuation of having him face-off with former music rival Jay-Z in a rap battle and said those days are long behind them.

Fif said outside of a few small subliminal words in the past, there will not be any type of battle between him and Young Hov.

“That won’t happen, that won’t happen,” Fif told DJ Whoo Kid when told fans want him to verbally go back-and-forth with Jay-Z. “We’ve had many opportunities for that. There’s been a subliminal line here and there from Jay. [laughs] [To the fans,] thanks for making this another great year for me, another successful year. To everybody, you know what I’m saying, you can follow me on Twitter, @50Cent. I’m running around.” (Shade 45)

In 2010, the G-Unit head said Jay had mastered the art of subliminal dissing.

“It’s the competitive nature of the art form,” Fif explained about his relationship with Jay. “It’s still there, he still competes too. He just does it so subliminal that people don’t read it. To me, it’s a softer way to do it. A safer way to do it because no one directly feels offended by it…Why not just say it? I don’t feel the [disses]. You gotta at least let the [diss be noticeable.] A guy that’s that subtle, how do you really take offense to those activities? You know, I get really disrespectful, I don’t mind. And then it’s like, we can go to the other space and it can really go down.” (Power 105.1)

50 has also previously suggested Jay used his former roster of artists like Beanie Sigel and Tru Life to protect him in beefs.

“Jay is a really smart guy,” 50 explained in an interview with reporter Gina Torres. “He’ll analyze other people and other things that they’re doing and not actually look at what’s happening to him and his transitions. Right now, he’s in this really safe space. He created this safe aura — it wouldn’t be like that if he handled his issues himself. He’s a piece of work, he always puts somebody in front of him. When Jada came for him, he put Beanie in front of him and Beanie went back and forth with Jadakiss. When Cam came for him, he put Tru Life in front of him and they went back and forth and he just didn’t compete.” (All Hip Hop)

Back in May, Mr. Jackson talked about possibly hooking up with Jay to have undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather fight at his Brooklyn Nets arena.

“Floyd’s gotta go in, he’s gotta go to jail,” Fif said in an interview. “So when he comes out of jail, I want him to fight in New York. … He hasn’t fought in the East Coast, so I want to bring him to fight in, I don’t know, maybe I’ll get Jay involved and we’ll bring him to Brooklyn, to the new Nets stadium and if not that, then Yankees Stadium.” (This Is 50)
