A few days ago, an arrest went down on a possible suspect connected to the crime.

Kevin McClinton, 21, was arrested in South Carolina after evading detectives for over two weeks after the May 18th shooting. He was arrested without incident by the NYPD’s Violent Felon Apprehension Team and U.S. Marshals at around 6 a.m. this morning. The victim, Daja Robinson, was an honor student riding a bus in South Jamaica when McClinton allegedly fired at least nine shots from the street towards the bus. She was struck in the right temple and died. Police do not believe she was the intended target. A friend sobbed, “She was supposed to go to another Sweet 16 party with us, but she left because her best friend lost her money and wanted to go home. She’s dead because she got on the wrong bus at the wrong time.” Daja’s family has been standing vigil at the bus station every day since her death. (Gothamist)

Once Robinson’s death went public, 50 Cent revealed a generous and unexpected contribution he made to her family.

The bus was hit a number of times, police sources sad and one bullet burst through a window, striking Daja Robinson, in the head. Word broke that the “We Up” rapper helped to pay for Robinson’s funeral via social media. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, posted a message on his Facebook page: “People always try and paint negative images about me I’m the most genuine down to earth person and I didn’t forget where I came from I came through for baby girl by providing a horse and carriage for her. She was pretty, innocent and didn’t deserve to die like that R.I.P D’Asia Robinson.” (MStarz)

Fif also hopped onto his Twitter page to confirm his heartwarming deed.

“”@all4joya: @50cent I heard you paid for Asia’s horse and carriage …. If that’s true I have so much respect for you #ripasia”,” Fif tweeted. (50 Cent’s Twitter)

Details of the horrific shooting scattered across the Internet a couple weeks ago.

According to authorities, D’aja and an unidentified girl boarded the Q6 bus at Sutphin and Rockaway Boulevard in the Jamaica section of Queens after attending a friend’s Sweet Sixteen birthday party. At approximately 8:50 p.m., gunfire erupted and a stray bullet shattered the glass before slammed into D’aja’s temple. “She sits in the rear of the bus, just to the rear of the back door and all of a sudden – shots rang out,” said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly. “We believe at least nine shots were fired, nine shell casings were found on the ground – 40 caliber shell casings.” D’aja was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.
