G-Unit leader 50 Cent has announced plans to put out his delayed new album this summer whether or not Interscope Records supports the campaign.

According to Fif, his heart and mind are both set on dropping the solo set in early July.

“There’s a lot more business involved [in putting out an album] than the general public is aware of. And that part causes the actual delay with [Interscope]. I’m releasing my album July 3rd, whether is has commercial promotions or not,” 50 said in an interview. “My birthday is July 6 and I planned for it. And I’m doing everything that I planned to do regardless if its huge airplay or not. I could care less, I’m putting the record out.” (All Hip Hop)

He also killed the notion that album sales have held the LP back.

“I don’t need a record to sell. How much money you think I’ma make off record sales? You think I’ma sell 13 million records?,” Fif added. “It’s starting to feel like that corner that I left. I ain’t going to keep sitting on the records. Even if everything ain’t in order, album five will be out July 3rd and they can wait another two years for me to give them another one.” (All Hip Hop)

In March, the rap star announced his yet untitled album release date.

“My album is coming out july 2. I got some heat trust me I’m ready,” Fif tweeted March 20th.

“My birthdays july 6 so that’s a cool date for ME. Its gonna be july2 album, july4 independence day, then july6 my birthday.” (50 Cent’s Twitter)

Last year, G-Unit head honcho said he had no intention of rushing out a new record anytime soon.

“I want to come out at the top of the year, I want to be ready, but, you know, of course it’s all on how everybody else puts together their actual marketing campaign and get it right,” 50 said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. “I don’t have a timeline anymore. I’m doing the Dr. Dre. I’m doing what Eminem does. I’ve been on a shot clock my entire career. ‘I’ve gotta come out during this period. I’ve got to come out during this period.’ Like, every other year. My albums are so successful that it would take me a year to get done touring off of them. I may not necessarily tour off of this album. I might release it and decide I’m going to make the next one instead of actually going out and touring and let everybody live with that and do something different. Or they’ll see me at spot dates.” (Shade 45)
