According to Fif, the underground project will feature ten records all accompanied with a music video.

“Its been 10 years since I put out 50cent is the future. So I’m putting out the BIG 10 next week 10 smoking hot tracks #SK,” 50 tweeted November 27th.

“I’m shooting videos for every song on the tape. The BIG 10 I got something for a haters ass it called hits lol #SK” (50 Cent’s Twitter)

Fif’s 50 Cent Is the Future mixtape dropped around 2002.

50 Cent Is the Future is the first official mixtape released by 50 Cent and G-Unit. The mixtape was recorded after his unreleased album Power of the Dollar was recorded and 50 Cent was dropped from the label and blacklisted from the recording industry due to being shot. He then travelled to Canada to record the mixtape. The mixtape mostly revisits material by Mobb Deep and features New Orleans rapper Juvenile’s group UTP. After 50 Cent Is the Future, he recorded his 2002 compilation album Guess Who’s Back?, which “G-Unit That’s What’s Up” is included in. The mixtape was named the #1 best mixtape of all time in the XXL Top 20 Mixtapes. (Wikipedia)

Recently, the rap star gave fans a throwback vibe after dropping a follow-up to 2003’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ intro track, “What Up Gangsta.”

You know that feeling you get when 50 Cent drops the follow up to his ” What Up Gangsta” out of absolutely nowhere? Yeah… that’s what you’re probably feeling right now. Yes, out of the total blue Fif has decided to re-up on classic track for the world to hear. I am always skeptical about Hip Hop artists dropping second, third and even fourth installments to past albums and or even past songs as 98.9% of them fail to live up to the original predecessor [sans Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…PT II of course]. However this follow up installment, entitled “What Up Gangsta (Part 2)”, although nothing to go ape shit about is still pretty decent… (Soul Culture)

In an excerpt from 50’s new XXL Magazine feature, the G-Unit leader speaks on the current state of his music.

“I don’t see what I fell in love with,” he says. “So now I gotta make music that reflects what N.W.A made. I have to make music that has the moments that Nas had. I have to make music that has what Biggie offered.” He also discusses his currently untitled 5th solo album: “For me, I’m still up against what I’ve done,” he says. “So in order to top it, I know it’s a difficult task. You know, I see the bloggers. My audience hasn’t grown with me. They keep saying, “Aw, man, I want the old 50!” ‘Cause those people, it would take them on a safari. I was bringing them close enough to the animals, without being able to get hurt. I was taking them into my neighborhood, where you can very well get your a** killed.” (XXL Mag)
