G-Unit’s DJ Whoo Kid has cleared the air on past tension between 50 Cent/Kanye West, revealing that the two rap heavyweights have conversed behind-the-scenes for months.
Whoo Kid also shared his opinion of West recently co-signing the Unit’s Lloyd Banks as a top underrated emcee.
“It’s cool to receive respect from Kanye due to the fact that he’s lyrical too. Lyrical dudes have respect for other lyrical dudes. Banks is always talking to Fab[olous], he’s always talking to dudes that have lyrical skill, Jay Rock to–everybody that spits bars, they all talk to each other…I guess that opened up the doorway–[50 and Kanye] have been talking about working together since a couple months ago–we all roll out together in a Euro tour. It’s the media that be hyping up all the beef and stupidity. But the real story is behind the scenes on how these dudes be talking. Because I been heard about this sh*t.” (VIBE)
Earlier this month, 50 revealed that West would appear on Banks’ upcoming Hunger For More 2 album.
“Banks got a really heavy album. Hunger For more 2 is gonna be classic! Me Em, kanye, on it. The 23rd is gonna be big,” 50 tweeted early Wednesday (September 15) morning. (50 Cent’s Twitter)
Prior to 50’s tweet, Banks hinted at possibly linking with the G.O.O.D. Music artist.
“That’s my problem now is having too many records,” Banks explained in an interview about his upcoming Hunger For More 2 album. “It’s definitely not a problem with not having enough. But I definitely want to get in — hopefully we can get in there with Kanye [West] too. You never know what’ll come out. ‘On Fire’ was the last record I recorded [for Hunger For More] but it was the first single I released, so, sometimes its works that way. I don’t want to cut my own self off until the deadline hits. You never know what’s gonna happen.” (Trace TV)
Aside from Banks, 50 also recently expressed interest in booking West for some studio sessions.
“Don’t even be surprised if you hear me and Kanye, just talented artists — period. I’mma collaborate and make a monster this time. Ain’t nobody off limits to me in my head. If creatively they have something they feel is something for the project, I’m with it.” (MTV)
