The court case stems from a 2006 lawsuit.

Rapper 50 Cent is taking on an engineering firm over home repairs done to his Connecticut mansion. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, arrived in court Tuesday for the start of the trial of his lawsuit against BVH Integrated Services. He hired the company when he bought his Farmington mansion in 2003 and repairs were to cost $44,000, but the lawsuit says the company billed him for $2.7 million. BVH calls the claims “fabricated” and says it received no complaints from Jackson until the lawsuit was filed. The case is being heard by a Hartford Superior Court judge. (WFSB-TV)

For the time being, Fif has reportedly taken his home off the market and real estate agents have confirmed the move.

Rapper 50 Cent’s opulent Farmington mansion — priced at more than $14 million — is off the market after nearly two years and no buyers, according to local real estate agents. The home, which the famous rapper bought in 2003 for $4.1 million, was for sale for 722 days, first with an asking price of $18.5 million. Late last year, the asking price was dropped to $14.5 million in an effort to attract more potential buyers. In May, the listing contract with Keller Williams Realty’s Ridgefield office officially expired, and the property has not yet been re-listed for sale, an agent familiar with the estate said. Keller Williams agents could not be reached for comment Monday. (Courant)

The G-Unit leader’s mansion, as seen in his “Candy Shop” video, was purchased by the rapper in 2003.

He originally bought the mansion from Mike Tyson‘s ex-wife in 2003 for $4.1 million. The 48,000-square-foot mansion also has a recording studio, servants’ quarters, in-door and outdoor pools, a boathouse and other amenities. Mike Tyson originally bought the house in 1996 for $2.7 million. (Radar Online)

His home is reportedly filled with multiple rooms, kitchens and a movie theater.

The mansion has 19 bedrooms, four kitchens, a movie theater, full gym, five Jacuzzis and an indoor shooting range. The pool area has an infinity pool and a Playboy Mansion-style grotto but the interior of the house seems to be decorated more like a businessman’s hotel than a rapper’s paradise. It is still on the market for $14.5 million. (Luxist)

The mansion is also the scene of an alleged crime where Fif associate Dwayne McKenzie reportedly assaulted a woman last year.

The suit, filed in Waterbury Superior Court this month, asks for more than $15,000 in damages for a list of physical and emotional trauma caused by McKenzie. The suit was filed by Waterbury-based attorney Leonard Crone on behalf of Shana Chin, who was attending Central Connecticut State University in New Britain when she met and started dating McKenzie. In May 2008, Chin was invited to a party at the rapper’s home on Poplar Bars Road in Farmington, Crone said. (Republican American)
