G-Unit head 50 Cent is showing his appreciation for the luxuries he has received since starting a hip-hop career in the late 1990's and revealed how he plans to give back.
Aside from wishing over 8 million Twitter followers a Merry Christmas, Fif promised to put his writing game to the test on his upcoming Street King Immortal solo album.
“I just want to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone on my time line.#SMSaudio,” Fif tweeted on Christmas.
“Hip Hop gave me every thing I could dream of. I guess the only way I can give back is doing my best im writing S.K.I classic #SMSaudio” (50 Cent’s Twitter)
The platinum-selling rapper recently talked to SOHH about achieving all of his success under the Interscope Records umbrella.
“With Interscope, look, all artists are going to express their frustrations with the system at some point,” Fif told SOHH. “I’ve had all the success in my career with Interscope Records. You know? So when everybody is there and working, that’s a powerful system there but a lot of people that are walking around the building now are new faces so I’m reintroducing myself and creating a new focus with the people that are actually there.” (SOHH)
A few days ago, Fif released his new “Major Distribution” Street King Immortal single.
While 50 Cent’s current single ‘My Life’ plays heavy on radio, he decides to give us another tease of his forthcoming 5th album Street King Immortal, due in stores in February 2013. This one however features Snoop Dogg and Young Jeezy, having a totally different feel from ‘My Life’. Hard to believe that it’s been almost a decade since 50 Cent crashed the rap world with his meteoric debut LP, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, but on February 6, 2013, Fif’s sonic baby will hit the 10-year mark. 5-0 won’t hit the anniversary on the head though. On Tuesday (November 27), he tweeted that Street King will actually drop on February 26. That release date comes not long after MTV News sat with him and buddy Eminem on the Detroit set of Fif’s “My Life” video, where he assured us that the oft-delayed album would come in the same month as his seminal LP: “February, definitely; I don’t want to miss that so it won’t go past February.” (MTV)
