G-Unit leader 50 Cent recently offered his take on Odd Future affiliate Frank Ocean revealing his sexual preferences and why it is silly to hold a grudge toward the singer.

Fif also said he does believe Ocean may have planned the announcement around his new Channel Orange album.

“Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot,” 50 Cent told MTV UK. “I think Frank Ocean is a talented artist, I think he’s created material that made me know his name, that impressed me, with things he said on a song like ‘Novacane.’ ” For Fif, Ocean’s efforts in the studio are way more important than his goings-on in the bedroom, and because Frank has delivered exemplary performances on record, his romantic revelation is a non-issue for the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ MC. “It could be revolutionary or it could be a tragedy,” he said before noting the timing of Frank’s announcement and his Channel Orange album release. “You can call it brave or you can call it marketing, because it was intentional; it wasn’t an accident.” (MTV UK)

Fellow New York rapper Mysonne shared a similar stance on the alleged marketing strategy last week.

“i think these n*ggas is cowards that looking for exposure and buzzes, so they wait til albums drop to tell you there true Sexuality,’ he tweeted July 10th.

“Never mind that youve built a career off of obvious deceit and false hood, but people say its ok cuz he can sing. What happen to integrity?” (Mysonne’s Twitter)

Music veteran Jermaine Dupri recently said he hoped Ocean’s new LP sold big units to send a shock wave to label executives.

“When I saw the # that Frank Ocean is suppose to hit next week, I got extremely Happy,I said I need to get in my car and and listen to this album,by the time I got to “Sweet Life” I was even more happy, finally!! a RnB album that’s hip, with out having the same 5 rappers on every song,I actually hope he hits 200k,for the sake of RnB,it’s in the worst position it’s ever been since I started making music, The Record company’s don’t believe in it,Radio won’t play it if it don’t have a rapper, and a majority of the artist that are labeled RnB,are confused and lost,so I repeat,I hope Ocean sells more than the 125k that he’s on pace for, maybe these executives u’llwake the f*ck up,or at least try to copy what he’s doing, like they always do, by the way,the end of “Pyramids”jammin like a m*fucka. [sic]” (Global 14)

The iTunes-exclusive album is currently slated to push up to 135,000 copies digitally.

Zac Brown Band debuts at #1 with its third Atlantic release, besting the first week of its previous album by over 70k. All four major distributors are represented nicely in this week’s Top 15, with Sony having five titles for the lead, WEA next with four titles and UMG and EMI each having three. Here’s how it looks headed into the weekend: *Zac Brown Band (Atlantic) 215-230k *Frank Ocean (Def Jam/IDJ) 125-135k Chris Brown (RCA) 45-50k (Weakend Chart Preview)
