Calling into “G-Unit Radio” over the weekend, Fif told DJ Whoo Kid there was no truth behind the speculation.

“That guy, I don’t know what his name is, the guy that [said that], he’s an idiot,” 50 said when asked if he signed to Capitol. “Okay? And there’s no deal done. He’s an idiot — he’s running his mouth. Out of nowhere he just comes out, you can tell he’s a little drunk or some sh*t…Interscope, all the success that I’ve had has been with Interscope.” (“G-Unit Radio”)

Last week, Capitol/EMI Vice President of Urban Promotions Craig Davis initially said 50 joined the team of rap stars on the label.

“Now I’m over at Capitol Records and got a great roster over at Capitol,” Davis said in an interview. “…We just signed a 50 Cent deal over there….50 thought he needed to get out of the Interscope machine, he wanted to do a new change so he got his release from there, we were in negotiations with him and the deal just got signed very recently. And now we got 50 Cent on the label, I think we’ll probably have Lloyd Banks cut in his first cut and then 50’s gonna come out later on.” (Pyramid TV)

Following the reports, hip-hop personality Miss Info also said the speculation was false.

“Wow, Craig Davis! This is big news! Except….that it’s not true,” Info wrote on her personal blog Thursday (July 1). “When I asked an insider if 50 Cent was now on Capitol/EMI….the answer was: ‘H*ll no.’ Well, d*mn *Gucci Mane voice* Now we all know that Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo are indie right now, but as far as the big guy is concerned, he’s still fully in contract with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope, and still has a greatest hits album to release. But even beyond that…sources say he was not in talks to sign to Capitol himself. (Miss Info)

The Unit’s Lloyd Banks recently said fans could expect to hear news about a new G-Unit record deal.

“We gonna let the [“Beamer”] remix bubble through Memorial Day weekend,” Banks said in an interview. “They can also expect a new record from Tony Yayo as well. We gotta make this a G-Unit summer..We’re very close [to a label deal]. So close I want to tell you something now, but I don’t want to ruffle no feathers…I don’t want to get anybody nervous. It’s gonna complement what we been doing, the hard work we been doing. It’s gonna give us the international platform.” (MTV)
