1. Grown Man

One thing you can’t deny about Marlon Wayans is his age – he’s far beyond the “Wayans Bros” Marlon we all remember him as and especially his Shorty Meeks character from Scary Movie. Marlon literally gets his grown man on as a divorced man with kids to his name. In a time where JAY-Z’s preaching the gospel on 4:44 about maturity, Marlon looks like he’ll flex some growth, too.
2. Comedy

Let’s face it – Marlon Wayans and comedy just go together. Too many times have Hollywood actors and actresses gone too much out of their comfort zone. That’s not the case with “Marlon” – it’s raw, realistic and – most importantly – funny.
3. Familiar Faces

A huge plus for “Marlon” is Wayans uniting with Essence Atkins. If you’ve seen movies like A Haunted House, you’ll remember the chemistry they had and why bringing her along to this comedy not only makes sense but feels organic, too.
4. Real-Life Splits

One of the biggest things working for “Marlon” is the fact we’ve seen too many real-life breakups and divorces in the entertainment industry. We’re not just talking Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but everyone from Future and Ciara to Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj or even the real-life divorce of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. More recently, look at the drama surrounding Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian. This show should touch on topics a lot of folks can relate to.
5. NBC

No offense to the competition but NBC is a good look for “Marlon.” Not only does Marlon Wayans get a respectable network, but it’s track record of amazing content is pretty legit too. Anyone remember “Seinfeld” from back in the day? Gotta take it show by show, but if this turns out to become a hit, Marlon might have a long relationship on the major network.
