Nicki Minaj’s The Devil, Tech N9ne Reveals Who Scares Him, M.I.A. Still Middle Fingerin’?
Touchy Thursday. It’s a day filled with touching all the sensitive spots, so why not start it off with Nicki Minaj being called Satan? Uh-oh. With scary thoughts still in your head, you’ll never guess who Tech N9ne gets shook of these days. When person the NFL should be scared of is M.I.A. because her middle finger is coming back? All this coming up in SOHH Whatcha Think.

1. The Devil Wears Prada
How evil is Nicki Minaj? In Mariah Carey‘s opinion, she’s pretty demonic or possibly even satanic? Those aren’t quite the words she used to specifically single out Nicki Minaj but it’ll take a little imagination to think of anyone else she could have been referring to. Complex is on it:
If Mariah Carey looked miserable during her short stint on American Idol earlier this year, there’s a simple explanation for that: She was. (Despite that, you know, $18 million paycheck.) In a new interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez, Carey revealed that she “hated” every second she was on Idol, mostly due to that highly publicized feud with fellow judge Nicki Minaj. Well, it’s better to just let her tell you all…
“Honestly, I hated it,” she confessed. “Here’s what it was. I was the first person who signed on…I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice…monetary moment, and I was just like, ‘Okay, Randy Jackson will be there; I’ve known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn’t a big deal. This will be nothing.'”
“But it wasn’t that,” she continued. “It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan.”
WELP. OK, then.
Carey doesn’t exactly say which judge was the satanic one, but it’s fairly obvious that she’s referring to Minaj—during the first auditions of the season, the two got into a huge fight that just happened to be caught on camera, and things weren’t reported to have gotten better after that. Sidenote, who else just thought of this album cover while reading her statements? (Complex)
Ouch? It’s pretty safe to say we won’t see Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj collaborating in the near future but you have to wonder why there was so much tension between them. Could Mariah have been jealous of Nicki or did Nicki get overwhelmed by Mariah’s presence? #SOHHWhatchaThink?
2. Mike’d On
Who is your all-time favorite horror movie villain? If you had to pick one, would it be Jason? Freddy Kreuger? Michael Myers? It seems like Tech N9ne has his own personal one that gives him the shakes. XXL Mag has the scoop:
Tech N9ne seems like a tough guy to scare: He’s a big horror movie fan, he’s got a gruff voice, and he’s known for wearing face-paint and masks out in public. He’s probably the person usually scaring people, not the other way around. But last night DJ Skee turned the tables by creeping out the Kansas City rapper with one of his favorite movie villains: Halloween’s Michael Myers.
Tech stopped by Skee TV to promote his Therapy EP, but at the beginning of the interview Skee played a little trick on him. After Tech spoke a bit about the extent of his Michael Myers—apparently Tech sees himself as Myers lyrically—Skee gently egged him on by saying, “You don’t have him everywhere, dude. Turn around.”
When Tech turned around, what was waiting for him? A giant dude in a Michael Myers costume. Despite being a little startled, Tech and his Strange Music associate, Krizz Kaliko, took it in stride, laughing along with Skee. (XXL Mag)
Halloween may have passed, but there’s no time of the year when you can’t watch a good horror flick and enjoy a bit of fear. Is Michael Myers the scariest villain out there? #SOHHWhatchaThink?
3. Throw ‘Em Up
Is M.I.A. going to be throwing up her middle finger at the Super Bowl this year? Possibly but there’s hardly any chance she’ll be caught-on-TV with it showing. It looks like she’s not sweating legal heat from the NFL and is going to make her presence known at this year’s Super Bowl. TMZ has the info:
– Watch More
M.I.A. doesn’t give two craps about the NFL’s $1.5 million lawsuit against her for flashing a middle finger during last year’s Super Bowl halftime show — in fact, she tells TMZ, she’s going back to the Super Bowl … to support Bruno Mars.
M.I.A. was leaving an L.A. sushi joint when we asked about the lawsuit, and the singer laughed it all off like it was a joke — but said she would attend the 2014 Super Bowl to support Bruno’s halftime show.
Pretty safe bet she won’t actually be on stage, but check the clip.
M.I.A. has previously scoffed at the NFL’s legal action … claiming she’s a victim of nothing more than “powerful corporation d**k shaking.” (TMZ)
Should M.I.A. play it safe and not come through? Is there any chance the NFL can ban her from attending this year’s Super Bowl? If she does make it, is there any chance we “will” see her throw the middle finger up again? #SOHHWhatchaThink?
That about wraps it up for today. This is SOHH On The Spot giving you the morning scoop from your favorite gossip sites.
