Here are the SOHH.com 5 Reasons to download “Black Flag.”
1. Inspirational Themes
MGK is a strong voice for the underdogs out there. His story speaks to thousands of disfranchised young people. The themes on this project reinforces his message of survival and dreaming big. MGK speaks on not only his struggle, but he also raps about obstacles and tough situations others have faced as well. True to himself, he has never forgot where he came from. The song “Raise The Flag” is a perfect example of that.
“Previous to this dream state I had leftovers on each plate/
Left shoe all tattered up from this long journey my feet ache/
Left the life that I lived because everyday was just replays/
And I dreamed big, walked around in my PJ’s/
And my street days are still here/
Never changed like I still wear/
The same pair” – Machine Gun Kelly

Initially when “Black Flag” was announced, it was coming out in mixtape form. Closer to release it was dubbed a “Free Album”. No deejays, no cutting and scratching. This is LP quality.
