Grand Theft Auto V’s $1.5 Mil Bounty, Cassie & Diddy Affection, Floyd Mayweather Post-Fight Drama
Tricky Tuesday. It’s a big Tuesday and what better way to set things off than with the release of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V? But is it headed for a billi? Speaking of big things, it looks like Diddy and Cassie are having a public moment over their love for one another. One big moment took place outside of the boxing ring over the weekend and involved someone close to Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? All this coming up in SOHH Whatcha Think. [Editor's Note: The views expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect those of SOHH] 1. It’s Here It took a very long time, by most standards, but Grand Theft Auto V is finally here? Was it worth the wait? That’s what everyone is saying that’s already copped the game. But as you sit back and enjoy the graphics, it looks like bills are being paid. CNN is on it:
With all the hype surrounding the next generation of gaming and the November launches of Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One, Rockstar Games is showing the strength of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with Tuesday’s launch of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V). The latest game in the bestselling franchise is expected to generate more than $1.5 billion for parent company Take-Two Interactive (TTWO). Michael Pachter, video game analyst for Wedbush Securities, forecasts sales of 12 million units worldwide relatively quickly. He expects the game to ultimately top out at 20-25 million copies sold around the world, which would generate up to $1.57 billion for the company. “GTA V is going to drive Take-Two from relatively break-even to very profitable,” said Pachter. “The stock has doubled this year, primarily because of GTA anticipation.” (CNN)
Cha-ching, anyone? The numbers aren’t even close to being finalized but considering how the game’s predecessor performed, is it any questions GTA V won’t touch a billion? #SOHHWhatchaThink? 2. Kiss, Kiss Is anyone else sick of seeing Diddy and Cassie put their romance on full display? Well, that’s what we’re going to keep receiving by the more attention we place on these two. It turns out Cassie wanted to acknowledge the world over Diddy hurting by not having her by his side. Bossip has is covered:
SMH… It’s not like these two don’t have each other’s phone numbers. Sunday Diddy let his lady love Cassie know she was missed, so she responded in kind. The singer posted this selfie of the Diddster with a mushy caption. Awwww love… But seriously, are you annoyed? Do you wish they’d just play footsie via text message instead of in front of the whole world? (Bossip)
Agreed? The day Diddy and Cassie break up will be one to record, tweet, Instagram and so on. But at the rate they’re going, it looks like they are going to be coupled up for the long haul. #SOHHWhatchaThink? 3. TKO It turns out there’s even drama when Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is not fighting and trying to keep his undefeated record intact. One fight he can’t seem to win is keeping his baby’s mother from getting at him and especially his girlfriend. TMZ is on it:
Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s baby mama is LIVID — telling TMZ, her 10-year-old daughter was dressed up like some gold-digging hoochie at the big fight on Saturday … and it’s all one designer’s fault. The designer in question is Project Runway’s Michael Costello — and Floyd’s baby mama Josie Harris tells us, Costello was hired to design a very special dress for the boxer’s 10-year-old daughter Jirah to wear at the Canelo fight in Vegas (left). Josie says the dress came out great — but when they showed up to the fight, she noticed Floyd’s on-and-off-again side piece Shantel Jackson wearing the same exact dress (right). According to Josie, she paid Costello $795 for a one-of-a-kind dress, and now she’s pissed the guy gave a replica to none other than Floyd’s girlfriend … who also sat ringside. Josie tells us, “It’s an unspoken rule and a cardinal sin for a ‘real designer’ to dress clients alike going to the same major event … Tacky, tacky, tacky.” And Josie didn’t stop there, turning her anger toward Jackson as well … adding, “She is a total gold digger … She conveniently came back around 2 days before Floyd got his $41.5 million check.” As for the designer, Costello says he will NOT be giving anyone a refund — telling us, “No exclusivity was promised regarding the dress. If you want exclusivity, you need to pay more.” Costello says his people told Miss Jackson that Floyd’s daughter would be wearing the same dress and she didn’t care. (TMZ)
Shouldn’t the real argument be about a ten-year-old girl wearing such a revealing dress instead of something a little more toned down? #SOHHWhatchaThink? That about wraps it up for today.
