Dawn Richard’s Debut Album Goldenheart

2. This, That & The Third

A Tell Tale Heart
This has all been evolution, the album really evolved. I’ve kept referring to SPIN’s review because I just read it and they said something that no one ever really got. I started with the the Tell Tale Heart [mixtape], that was my first installment early in the year. I was starting to introduce people to this way that was more of a narrative. And then getting into the EP, I started really getting you comfortable with the songs and hearing something different, so storytelling came to the forefront. And then even when we did Whiteout, it wasn’t your conventional Christmas EP. It led you to believe that there was something new coming. We’ve been developing this for some time but what’s crazy is we’ve done four different projects in one year. This has all been digested and I haven’t been giving it to you guys all at once.
