BET Awards Special: “He’s Made Grown Rappers Applaud His Efforts & Call Him A Legend”
[With the annual BET Awards just days away, SOHH's highlighting everyone's favorite categories and giving you an official rundown on what each nominee brings to the table. Today, we're running down the "Best Male Hip-Hop Artist" selection.]
1. 2 Chainz
What more could you want from the “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist” than what 2 Chainz has delivered over the past year. Within a full year, we’ve seen Chainz officially make the transition from “Tity Boi” to the rapper even your grand-mama knows. His lyrics can be called into question, but what’s wrong with being able to memorize every lyric after just one listening? He’s showed off his acting chops in shows like “2 Broke Girls” and “Law & Order,” made Nicki Minaj shake her money-maker on numerous occasions (“Luv Dem Strippers” and “Beez In The Trap”), invaded Hot 97’s Summer Jam, made it look cool to run from gun-totting robbers and more. How can 2 Chainz not win?
