[I am Scott “Prezident” Bejda, a long-time music journalist mainly known for my 15-plus years as Midwest Editor for the legendary Murder Dog Magazine. Now I host the Murder Master Music Show along with my Co-Host Mac Jay. From time to time I will be contributing dope moments from various episodes of the show on SOHH. For today, we speak to 2Pac protégé and Death Row artist Riskie.]

All Eyez On Me Was Riskie’s First Death Row Project:

I started doing artwork for Death Row at the first part of 1996 right before the “All Eyez on Me” dropped. The Centerfold, that was the first work I did for them.

What It Was Like Working W/ 2Pac:

To me it was a dream come true because I was a fan of his before I got to Death Row listening to stuff like Brenda’s Got A Baby and watching the movie Juice. I was fascinated with him, so it was a real crazy experience to sit next to him and talk about what he wanted to do on his albums.

The Process In Making The Killuminati Artwork:

When I first found out about doing the Killuminati album I got a call from Suge from the main office telling me what they wanted to put together. That same time we had a meeting later that night and Suge told me about it. I took the mock up to him and showed Suge. Maybe about a week later I had a meeting with Pac and I already knew wanted to be on the cross and he explained to me what he wanted. The inside he wanted a road map and on this road map he wanted to display cities from the East to the West.

Turned In Killuminati Art To 2Pac 1 Day Before Fatal Shooting:

I turned in the Killuminati art work finished the day before he left for Las Vegas on September the 6th 1996. That same day Pac was telling me about how he was gonna host my art show but he never came back from Vegas.

Suge Knight Was Appreciative Of My Work:

I did Death Row’s Greatest Hits, I did Daz’s album, Christmas on Deathrow, and quite a few pieces there. Then I did other art that never came out which I placed in my book “Riskie Forever.” Working at Death Row I never had an experience with Suge Knight. At that time Suge was very appreciative of me and always showed me love. I never had a problem with Suge.
