Miami Heat’s LeBron James does not have to worry too much about his new NBA 2K14 virtual self having a bad hair day as reports claim the now-iconic 2K Sports has gone to great lengths to deliver the most realistic basketball title to date.
According to reports, 2K Sports did not give King James any special treatment in regard to his game version and despite him being this year’s cover model.
The people behind the video game NBA 2K14 tell TMZ … they weren’t trying to be haters when they receded LeBron James’ hairline on his digital avatar — they’re just keepin’ it real. In case you haven’t seen the images, 2K14 LeBron is WAYYYYY balder than 2K13 LeBron … and conspiracy theorists are suggesting the designers are anti-LBJ fans who were just trying to troll the guy. But we spoke with a rep for the company behind the game … who tells us the digital art is simply imitating real life — “We strive for current realism.” LeBron now joins the ranks of other legendary bald video characters … including King Hippo, Dhalsim, the guy from Hitman, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Kirby. Congrats. (TMZ)
Back in July, King James revealed his top tracks for the new NBA 2K14 title.
2K Games has dropped the entire playlist for theirupcoming basketball opus, NBA 2K14. Apparently on top of attributing LeBron James with an executive producer credit, 2K has also let him hand pick they soundtrack as well. “2K is letting me take control of some important elements in NBA 2K14, including this year’s soundtrack,” said James, who successfully defended the Miami Heat’s world championship in the NBA Finals, while winning his second straight NBA Finals MVP award. “I love that I’m the first NBA 2K cover athlete to choose the soundtrack.” (Complex)

LeBron recently explained his motivation for teaming up with the 2K Sports franchise.
“My friends, family and fans all know how much I love NBA 2K,” James said in a statement. “I remember, as a kid, getting so excited for the game to come out and see who was on the cover, and it’s amazing to be a part of this great tradition. I love partnerships and opportunities that connect me directly with fans. I know from my own experience and now watching my own kids, NBA 2K is among the coolest and purest ways for fans to connect to the NBA. I love being a part of it.” (ESPN)
