According to reports, Kim Kardashian West is set to give music another run.
It may be a case of wishful thinking, but a British tabloid is reporting that Kim Kardashian may be pursuing a music career again. According to The Sun, the newlywed has enlisted the help of husband Kanye West as well as vocal and songwriting coaches to help her break into the industry. (CNN)
A couple years ago, G.O.O.D. Music protégé Big Sean denied ghostwriting for Kim.
"How'd you know, man," Sean joking said to radio host Charlamagne Tha God when asked if he's ghostwriting for Kim in light of her joining G.O.O.D. Music soon. "[I ghostwrote] the whole project. H*ll yeah, getting paid five mil a song. [laughs] Nah, man, I don't know nothing about no ghostwriting for Kim. [You heard that?] For real? He probably heard that from [blogger] Big Ghostface. [laughs]" ("The Breakfast Club")
R&B singer The-Dream previously claimed Kardashian never fully intended on making a run as a singer.
It seems like the Kardashians have their stamp on everything these days -- from diet pills to primetime guest spots on sitcoms, to their own clothing line -- so it wasn't a stretch to assume that mom, Kris Jenner, would push her children into another project that could potentially amass millions for the Kardashian trademark. But, The-Dream tells us otherwise. "I'm the one that actually called her to do it," the producer revealed during his interview with Sway Calloway. "This was very, very -- believe it or not -- a very fun moment for me. It's one of my lightest musical moments. ... It wasn't about kicking off a singing career; it was us really having the power of TV and goofing off." (MTV)
112's Slim spoke to SOHH in 2012 and offered his take on seeing entertainment beauties like Amber Rose and Kim trying their hand in his lane.
"When you have people like an Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian or whatever, I look at it like this; in this day and age, you have to grow with what's going on," Slim told SOHH. "You have people out there that are trying to touch every aspect of entertainment there is. For that right there, I can't knock them. At the end of the day, they're touching their dream. I look at it like, the sky is the limit. Go for it. You have people that probably told Drake, 'No, you can't sing 'and' rap.' I followed him through his mixtapes -- I find it very amazing that somebody from Toronto can come down and really embrace the Texas-feel of music and do a really good job at it. He mixed the style of where he's from and what he's going through, and really took it to a whole 'nother field. I can't knock it. As long as you believe in what you're doing, then the sky is the limit." (SOHH)
