Roc Nation's Wale and Roc Nation Sports' Kevin Durant are reportedly two key reasons why former Philadelphia Eagles star DeSean Jackson has now joined the Washington Redskins.
According to Jackson, KD played a big role in him signing on the dotted line.
"Another influence was my boy Durant," Jackson told ESPN 980's Inside the Locker Room on Wednesday. "Kevin Durant been calling me, he been calling and saying man you know how I'd go crazy for you to be in D.C." (Washington Post)
Durant jumped onto his Twitter page to lure DJ to his hometown's team.
"@DeseanJackson10 come on home bro! You belong here! #HTTR!!! #redskins #RGIII to #Jaccpot! #Shwagggggg," KD tweeted April 1. (Kevin Durant's Twitter)
Earlier in the week, MMG's Wale released photos hanging out with DeSean in Washington, DC.
Everyone thinks the biggest moment in a relationship is when the significant other meets the parents. And while that's certainly a big deal, it's not the most important moment. That comes when you meet the peers. That's why Washington Redskins fans eager for news of a DeSean Jackson signing will be happy to see the photo posted to Instagram early Tuesday morning of Jackson, Pierre Garcon, DeAngelo Hall and the D.C. rapper/booster Wale hanging out at a Washington club. The NFL superstar officially joined forces with the Redskins Wednesday (April 2).
The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they have signed free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Jackson (5-10, 175) was originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round (49th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 87 regular season games with 86 starts, compiling 7,813 all-purpose yards and 39 total touchdowns, all with Philadelphia from 2008-13. (Washington Informer)
