Superstar couple Jay Z and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter are packing their bags and preparing for a nationwide run with the announcement of a joint tour called "On The Run."
Queen Bey confirmed the speculated tour rumors Monday (April 28) morning.
The singer on Monday announced a joint summer tour with husband Jay Z titled the "On the Run Tour," a nod to the pair's earliest collaboration, "'03 Bonnie & Clyde." The two have shared the stage many times before, but the upcoming dates are the first time they have embarked on a co-headlining tour--and with two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter growing up, it's probably not the last summer excursion they'll ever make. The music duo will have nearly two months to prepare before heading out for the city-to-city run.
Beyoncé posted a note on her site with tour dates. She and Jay Z are wearing ski masks for the On the Run tour. It kicks off on June 25 in steamy Miami. It will be the first joint tour for the Drunk in Love duo. Jay Z's Magna Carter World Tour ended in January, while Beyoncé finished her highly successful Mrs. Carter trek last month. (USA Today)
Earlier this month, rumors suggested Young Hov and Queen Bey would likely take center stage with a slew of show dates beginning in June.
Sources exclusively tell Page Six that hip hop's royal couple plans to announce a 20-stadium US tour that will start in late June -- and that it's possible the couple could perform in New York on July 4. The two recently wrapped individual tours that supported their latest albums: Jay closed out 52 dates for his "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" in January, while Bey wrapped her "Mrs. Carter Show" tour in March. (New York Post)
Jigga and Beyoncé appeared at the Coachella music festival earlier this month in California.
They made separate cameos at Coachella on the weekend, and the artists recently bagged more than 180 combined dates on their global tours. Hov's 52-date "Magna Carter" tour finished in January, while Bey's 132-date "Mrs. Carter Show" trek ended in March. (Billboard)
