[With the Taylor Gang movement growing stronger with each passing day, group member Courtney Noelle tells SOHH readers about her run in Wiz Khalifa's crew and who she leans on for advice.]
Wiz Khalifa. He's a good friend of mine since we were teenagers. We've been making music together since we were teens.
I know that he's honest. Brutally honest. So if I wanna know the truth or if I wanna know if something sounds right or looks right or doesn't, I know that I can go to him and get an honest answer.
I respect his opinion because he has such a great track record with song writing and hit records and albums. So he's definitely somebody I lean on a lot for advice and encouragement and my creative process.
He helps me a lot with that. He's like a mentor and a big brother. Wiz is definitely somebody I get a lot of advice from.
He's taught me to just trust in yourself. When you get onstage in front of thousands of people, you don't know what they're gonna say. "She doesn't look like that person" or "She doesn't sound like that person" "That's not really a music that's poppin' right now" - You have to just believe in yourself and trust that you make good music.
People are gonna love you for it or they're not. If you believe in yourself, the rest of the world will. So he's always instilled in me not to doubt myself and be sure of myself because people are gonna judge you regardless.
