Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West showed just how much of an Arsenio Hall fan he is last night (March 6) after making a surprise appearance on his nightly talk show.
Mr. West brought some flare to a scheduled Rick Ross performance alongside G.O.O.D. Music's Big Sean.
A day after Prince lit up the stage, Rick Ross blessed "The Arsenio Hall Show" with the first performance of his soulful Mastermind cut "Sanctified." But he didn't come alone. The Maybach Music boss, whose album is set to debut atop next week's charts, was joined by surprise guests Kanye West and Big Sean. The Detroit rapper kicked things off before 'Ye, fresh from Paris Fashion Week, rushed the stage, much to the delight of the crowd. (Rap-Up)
According to reports, a performance earlier in the week inspired Ye's unexpected appearance.
Kanye West is a fan of Arsenio Hall ... so much so that we're told he was watching Wednesday night when Prince appeared and loved it so much he made a surprise appearance Thursday night. Kanye appeared with Big Sean and Rick Ross and they were pretty amazing together. Our "Arsenio" spies tell us no one from the show even knew Kanye was coming until a hour before the taping. Even if you don't like rap ... this is a great performance. (TMZ)
Coincidentally, rap veteran LL Cool J kicked some jokes at Kanye during his appearance on the "Arsenio" show.
"I think it's a lot of good music out there," LL said in an interview with Arsenio Hall. "I think there are a lot of artists that are doing well. I just did a remix with a great, young artist, Kid Ink. Me, Kid Ink, Chris Brown and Tyga and they remind me of me when I first started. So I was happy to get on the record and do something. ... Kanye West when he's not complaining [is great]. I love you man, stop complaining, B. [laughs] Call him up [during the commercial]. Don't hit me. [laughs]" ("Arsenio")
LL resorted to social media in an effort to downplay the media's coverage of his remarks following his interview.
"@RapDose see. Why would you gas it like that? You know I wasn't disrespectful. Lol play fair for clicks baby... Much love.," LL tweeted in response to the tweet "VIDEO: @llcoolj Disses @kanyewest & Talks His Favorite Young Rappers On @ArsenioHall http://wp.me/p1YAYs-m7o" (LL Cool J's Twitter)
