After sparking headlines last year with buzz about a new television series being in the works, G-Unit head 50 Cent's upcoming Power show's trailer has premiered online.

Along with the must-see footage, a full description of the program has also emerged.

From Executive Producer Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife) comes Power, a visionary crime drama set in two different worlds - the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade. James "Ghost" St. Patrick has it all: a beautiful wife, a gorgeous Manhattan penthouse, and the hottest, up-and-coming new nightclub in New York. His club, Truth, caters to the elite: the famous and infamous boldface names that run the city that never sleeps. As its success grows, so do Ghost's plans to build an empire. However, Truth hides an ugly reality. It's a front for Ghost's criminal underworld; a lucrative drug network, serving only the wealthy and powerful. (HHNM)

Fif jumped onto his Twitter page last November to boast about the show.

"You will not believe how good this POWER show is on STARZ. I'm up reading HAPPY THANKSGIVING. #smsaudio #viaUberSocial," Fif tweeted November 28. (50 Cent's Twitter)

While details were initially scarce, reports claimed production for the STARZ program began last fall.

The forthcoming TV series Power, which will be executive produced by and co-star 50 Cent, has begun production. The show, which has been picked up by the STARZ network, recently began shooting in New York City. Power will depict the tale of James "Ghost" St. Patrick, a wealthy club owner who is trying to shake his drug dealing past. Patrick will be played by Omari Hardwick. The series will also feature 3LW member Naturi Naughton (Notorious), Lela Loren (Gang Related), Joseph Sikora (Boardwalk Empire), and La La Anthony. Fif has procured the role of Kanan, the best friend of the main character. The series is set to debut in 2014. (XXL Mag)

Hype behind Curtis Jackson landing an executive producer role on the series bubbled online last summer.

Starz said on Friday that it was picking up a new drama series called "Power," which is set in the shadowy world of New York City night life and whose executive producers include 50 Cent (who is also known by his civilian name, Curtis Jackson). "Power" is created by Courtney Kemp Agboh, a producer of "The Good Wife," and chronicles a fictional nightclub owner named James St. Patrick, known as Ghost. But while he dreams of success, Ghost is living a double life: "When he is not in the club," says a Starz news release, "he is the kingpin of the most lucrative drug network in New York for a very high-level clientele. His marriage, family and business all become unknowingly threatened as he is tempted to leave his criminal life behind and become the rags-to-riches businessman he wants to be most of all."
