OutKast's Big Boi is reportedly not ready to lay down and dish out endless amounts of money to his estranged wife in light of a current child support battle and pending divorce.
According to reports, Daddy Fat Sax believes his soon-to-be former wife should be able to make a respectable enough living to help support their child.
It's war between Big Boi and his estranged wife -- the Outkast rapper does NOT want to shell out endless child support ... claiming she's perfectly capable of supporting herself. As we reported, Big Boi's wife Sherlita Patton filed for divorce last year ... demanding FULL custody of their minor child (they also have an 18-year-old). But Big Boi's not about to cave -- he just filed a response, saying their child would be better off with JOINT physical and legal custody. As for child support -- Big Boi says he's willing to pay whatever the State of Georgia deems appropriate ... no more, no less ... because Patton's young, healthy, and well-educated ... which means she can support herself. Details of the happily ever after marriage coming to an end surfaced online back in October.
Big Boi (real name Antwon A. Patton) from Outkast may be facing a child custody battle from his estranged wife after she filed divorce papers in in Fulton County Superior Court yesterday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Sherlita M. Patton said in court documents that their 11 year marriage is "irretrievably broken." She is also seeking alimony, an equitable division of marital property and attorney's fees. Some reports claimed things would likely become messy over a potential custody battle.
The divorce complaint, filed in Fulton County Superior Court, claims that the marriage is "irretrievably broken," and is seeking alimony, an equitable division of marital property and attorney's fees. Antwon and Sherlita Patton have two children -- ages 18 and 12 -- and Sherlita Patton is asking for sole custody of the younger child and corresponding child support, according to the filing. Outside of the martial war, Boi recently addressed rumored OutKast album rumors.
"No, we're just doing the tour only just for the fans," Boi said in an interview. "That's all it is, a tour. I got a solo album I'm working on, but it's just the OutKast 20-year anniversary, just a way for us to celebrate for our fans, but there is no album in the works." (REVOLT)
