Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz is making sure 2014 is a memorable year by announcing plans to load back up for another addition to his Based On A T.R.U. Story collection.
Although brief and to the point, Chainz announced a new project is on deck via Twitter Tuesday (February 4).
"Workin on B.O.A.T.S III," Chainz tweeted February 4. (2 Chainz's Twitter)
Back in December, Chainz revealed some Playaz Circle tunes could appear any day.
"Yeah, I was with Dolla at the studio last night. So, you know, we never stop working. You never know what can happen. I'm definitely going to be working on this T.R.U. imprint. Me and him got this dope record that I want to use for it. So, I don't know if I'm gonna do a mixtape. I don't know what I'm gonna do next, but definitely be looking out for something next." Back in 2011, G-Unit's 50 Cent gave Chainz props for making it big with Playaz Circle.
"[Potentially hot artists?] Definitely 2 Chainz 'cause he's been around. He's one of them guys that's finally having a moment. I remember when he was in Playaz Circle. I know it's been years and years of work. And the kid Future. He's got some hits under his belt that ain't under his name, like that 'Racks' joint. I watch. It may seem like I'm doing business in different areas and doing different things, but my passion for music hasn't changed." (Shade 45)
Last year, Chainz's B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time managed to debut in the Top 3.
2 Chainz' new album B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time sold 63,000, enough to take the No. 3 spot on Billboard. While the top three placement is respectable, the sales are a far cry from his debut album Based on a T.R.U. Story, which sold 147,000 in its first week. (Complex)
